Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Regional Director to provide high-level leadership for the AES field operations. The role oversees statewide eligibility services, aligns regional goals with agency directives, and drives performance and customer service excellence.

The position requires strategic thinking, policy interpretation, and strong communication skills to lead staff across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or Business Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience managing SNAP/Medicaid or Cash Assistance programs or units.
• Experience supervising staff and managing multiple locations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership and strategic direction for the region.
• Direct and assess eligibility operations to ensure performance standards.
• Develop and monitor strategic plans to improve operations and resolve issues.
• Manage staff through mentoring, training and performance appraisals.
• Prepare management reports and respond to issues.
• Travel up to 40% as needed.
