Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a Colo Regional Engineer to assess, design, and optimize data center infrastructure. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure availability and efficiency of colo facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of engineering experience in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation, etc.).
Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and telecommunications facilities within the region.
Review vendor infrastructure designs and perform risk analysis and availability calculations for colo data center infrastructure.
Perform design reviews for new data centers and assist with RCAs and corrective actions.
Lead engineering site audits and act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
