Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Regional Chief Engineer to lead Data Center Engineering Operations, ensuring reliable mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with 99.999% availability. You will work with on-site technicians, CEs, and facility managers to optimize performance and drive cost-efficient improvements.

This role manages medium-to-large projects across global teams, defines standards, and trains staff while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years in facilities management.
• Minimum 3 years defining program requirements and driving data-driven improvements.
• 8+ years of experience in data centers or critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in data centers.
• Act as escalation point for facilities-related issues within the region.
• Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deploy standard practices for engineers, chief engineers, and vendors.
• Provide training and guidance to technicians and facility managers.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed by staff and vendors.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate across teams to define strategy and drive performance improvements.
