Job summary

WestLand Engineering and Environmental Services, a Trinity Consultants team, seeks an Assistant Department Director, Cultural Resources, based in Reno, NV. You will oversee the Nevada Cultural Resources Department, ensure project delivery quality, manage staff, and support regional projects.

You will lead business development, client relations, budgeting, and strategic planning, while guiding multidisciplinary teams to meet regulatory requirements and deliver exceptional reports.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in cultural resources management, with at least five (5) years in a supervisory or leadership role (Great Basin preferred).
• Proven ability to develop business relationships and generate new clients.
• Expertise in applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor project managers and staff, ensuring effective workload distribution.
• Serve as Project Manager and/or Principal Investigator on diverse cultural resources projects for public and private clients.
• Identify and address operational process issues; implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with technical editors to manage workload and timely report delivery.
• Train staff in company project management procedures and software systems.
• Assist in planning resource allocation and monitoring utilization rates.
• Engage in client relations and identify new opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to technical review processes and quality standards.
• Stay current on permitting and reporting requirements for applicable agencies.
• Contribute to SOQs and RFP responses and participate in go/no-go decisions.
• Assist in preparing and managing department budgets and tracking variances.
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
