Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a corrosion control professional to administer the corrosion control program for a designated region, directing design, installation, operation, and maintenance of corrosion control facilities to maximize safety and efficiency while meeting state and federal pipeline safety regulations.

You will lead Corrosion Technicians and contract staff, oversee cathodic protection, coatings and related systems, plan budgets, manage projects, and ensure timely completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Science, or related field from an accredited school or relevant professional experience that has developed equivalent engineering, project management and/or corrosion skills.
• Proven ability to apply engineering and management concepts to corrosion control within a regulated industry.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision and technical support of corrosion technicians and specifications for cathodic protection and coatings.
• Supervises regional corrosion control program to meet goals within budget and resources; plans projects and designates accountability for assignments; reviews progress and schedules.
• Conducts performance evaluations and provides training and orientation to staff.
• Develops capital and RC budgets; manages cash flows; oversees cathodic protection and corrosion control systems.
• Prepares contract drawings, specifications and bid invitations when outside contractors are used.
• Plans, coordinates, directs projects, prioritizes corrosion control work and installation of protective measures.
• Communicates with management regarding projects, budgets, proposals, and priorities.
• Resolves protection and interference issues; implements corrective actions with maintenance personnel or contractors.
• Maintains safety focus and data quality in PCS database; trains technicians and supports annual corrosion reviews.
• Maintains close interval survey schedules and plans using inline inspection data.
• Daily support to Corrosion Technicians.
