Wichita State University is seeking a regional program supervisor for Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP, a state-wide foster care program serving students in grades 7-12 and first-year college students. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm (regular evenings& weekends based on scheduled events but flexible); work isperformed on-site and in person.

We require someone who is organized with exceptional timemanagement. Plan events /information workshops in the evening orweekends for youths as well as meeting with them regularly duringthe school day. Travel to kids across the region assisting withpersonalized services for their scholarly level. Being able tobuild rapport with this population & maintaining appropriateboundaries is key to these relationships.
The priority goes to great documentation & information sharingwith other invested parties. Provide supervision to staff, coachingthem to success. Travel is your friend in this role as well sinceyou cover a region & have time to mentally prepare on your wayto your appointments.

Responsible for supervising the staff and monitoring the servicesprovided to students in each region. Collaborates with partners toset up services for students, collect in-kind documentation anddocument all activities in the region.
Manages regional office by coordinating all activities which mayinclude, but is not limited to, foster care facilities, schools,and community organizations. Prepares monthly and annual reports.Provides leadership to regional staff and volunteers. Supervisesvarious staff actions including, but not limited to, hiring,training, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers andvacation schedules. Instructs program students in college accessworkshops. Plans and coordinates resource center development forstudents, parents, teachers and staff. Serves as representative atlocal school, foster care agencies, and community meetings.Negotiates in-kind donations with partners to ensure grant dollarfor dollar match.
This position is responsible for schools in multiple counties inwestern Kansas. The office is located in the Pratt, KS DCFbuilding. Travel to assigned school districts to provide collegegoing services to students in foster care. Monitors and tracksstudent academic progress, graduation, enrollment in college andFAFSA completion. Provides grant related activities such asworkshops and college campus visits, academic advising, careerexploration and job search, mentoring, tutoring resources, andsummer programs. Assists students with KKGU dual creditapplication, DCF tuition waiver application and credit recovery, ifneeded.
Valid Driver's License
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in education, counseling,social services or related field
Required Experience: Three (3) years of experience ineducational program management with diverse populations or relatedfield.
A minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
Must be able to complete a State of Kansas Child Abuse andNeglect background check.
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate acomputer and other office equipment including but not limited tophone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicatewith others and accurately exchange information. Ability to travelin a vehicle for distances including but not limited to acrosscity, county, and state.
