Job summary

Wichita State University’s Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP program is seeking a part-time coordinator to travel to assigned school districts and provide college-going services to foster care students in grades 7-12 and first-year college students. You will monitor academic progress, help with FAFSA completion, and coordinate workshops and campus visits to encourage college enrollment.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to escort students on campus visits, occasional overnight travel, and

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned school districts to provide college going services to students in foster care.

Additional Requirements

• Valid Driver's license required.
• Drive 7 or 15 passenger van with youth. Must be able to escortstudents on campus visits - which may include lots ofwalking.

• Overnight travel to training and conferences may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of 60 credit hours of college coursework
• At least one year experience working in an office setting

Additional Information

• 30 hours per week (60 per pay period). Candidate will set officehours with supervisor.
• Must be able to complete a State of Kansas Child Abuse and Neglectbackground check.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate acomputer and other office equipment including but not limited tophone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicatewith others and accurately exchange information.
