Job summary

ForrestBehavioral Health seeks a hands-on Chief Operating Officer to drive operational performance and growth across Massachusetts and Illinois, with potential Rhode Island involvement. You will optimize an established operating model, strengthen execution, and scale success while partnering with ownership and facility directors.

The role requires leading across admissions, clinical operations, staffing, licensing, and regulatory compliance, with roughly one week of travel monthly.

Qualifications

• Direct professional experience within substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment operations.
• Leadership roles within multi-site behavioral health organizations.
• Willingness to travel approx one week per month; home base in MA or IL.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and performance across multiple behavioral health treatment locations.
• Partner with facility Directors to identify operational shortcomings, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Hold facility leadership accountable to organizational expectations, deliverables, performance standards, and deadlines.
• Support licensing, accreditation, regulatory compliance, and facility readiness initiatives.
• Help implement new programs, operational systems, processes, and locations.
• Travel between Massachusetts and Illinois facilities as needed.
