Lakeshore Talent is partnering with a well-established transportation and logistics organization to identify an experienced Regional Controller. This role oversees accounting and finance operations for a large, multi-site regional business.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader who partners with operations, improves processes, and provides strategic financial guidance. You’ll work independently, build relationships across locations, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• 3+ years leading accounting and finance functions within a mid-size or large organization.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing complex, multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments.
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management.
• Experience partnering closely with operations and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead all regional accounting and finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Oversee multiple profit and loss statements across several operating locations.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls while ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Partner with operational leaders to improve business processes, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead variance analysis and present financial results and KPIs to executive leadership.
• Support pricing strategies, cost savings initiatives, and business growth opportunities.
• Assist with annual audits and ensure compliance with applicable financial and tax requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage banking relationships, cash management, and working capital.
• Drive process improvements and support ongoing ERP optimization initiatives.
