Job summary

Patterson Companies, Inc. seeks a Regional Controller to lead the finance and accounting functions for a geographic region. You will ensure internal controls, oversee monthly closes, budgeting, and forecasts, and provide strategic financial input to regional management.

You will supervise the regional accounting center, drive process improvements, and partner with sales and operations to support performance, reporting, and compliance. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience, knowledge of accounting principles, and demonstrated inventory, costing, general ledger and financial analysis skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet work and project deadlines producing high quality output.
• Excellent prioritization & organizational skills to manage multiple deliverables.
• Verbal & written communication skills that provide direct, succinct messages and can be understood by financial and non-financial business partners.
• Ability to identify areas of improvement and work with management to optimize processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of the regional accounting center.
• Perform monthly financial close in timely and accurate manner.
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Yearly develop regional budgets.
• Quarterly develop financial forecasts.
• Develop information and present meaningful operations reviews to the Division.
• Provide information to satisfy external financial reporting requirements when needed.
• Provide support and direction for the regional management, sales and operations teams when needed.
• Contribute leadership as needed to direct reports. Assist in objective planning and feedback throughout the year. Furnish knowledge and training as needed.
