Regional Group Controller – Midwest Region

Supports 7 Plant Controllers in the region.

Remote-based role with 30% - 35% travel; the rest of the time working from a home office.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $145,000 plus 20% bonus.

I am currently recruiting for a Group Controller position located in the Midwest region. The role involves working remotely to support 7 plant locations, with each having a Plant Controller. The Regional Controller will provide accounting leadership and oversight, ensuring adherence to financial reporting requirements within GAAP. Travel to plant locations (approximately 30%) is required.

The position reports directly to 7 Plant Controllers and is within a manufacturer of building materials. Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing monthly financial reports and account reconciliations for accuracy
• Developing templates for process standardization and supporting the implementation of standardized accounting practices across all plant locations
• Hiring and training new Plant Controllers as needed
• Conducting periodic reviews of plant controls to ensure compliance with best practices and SOX requirements
• Partnering with external auditors and internal audit departments, including preparing year-end audit packages

The ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of experience in standard cost manufacturing accounting, with at least 2 years of multi-site experience preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; additional credentials such as CPA, CMA, or MBA are valued. The candidate should have good ERP system experience and strong skills in Excel.
