Overview
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Continuous Improvement Manager – JFK. The CI team provides a common language, processes, and metrics across the enterprise to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence using Lean tools and Six Sigma principles. The Regional CI Manager will work with the CI Director and operational teams to develop and manage strategic initiatives, drive accelerated operating and financial performance, and sustain CI transformations across the facility and region.
Location: Jamaica, New York (JFK). This is a full-time, exempt position.
Base pay and compensation
The base pay range is $90,000.00/yr - $127,000.00/yr. Actual compensation within this range is based on experience, skills, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for benefits described below.
The expected base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $127,000 USD per year.
Responsibilities
- Be a liaison to the CI Director for the station.
- Train, coach, and facilitate Lean/Continuous Improvement concepts and principles (e.g., Toyota Kata Process, Managing for Daily Improvement, A3 Thinking, PDCA, problem solving, cultural transformation, leadership standard work) and other methodologies as directed.
- Provide lean/CI expertise to CI Champions, Operations Managers, and department managers to develop business and departmental transformation plans based on value-stream thinking.
- Train, facilitate, and support CI Champions and Operations in deploying and sustaining the WFS Value System, developing Strategic Projects, and driving CI transformation plans to achieve strategic goals.
- Participate actively in CI meetings at appropriate levels.
- Coach teams in the CI process to identify problems, develop countermeasures, and sustain solutions.
- Champion Safety Excellence by complying with safety rules and driving CI thinking to identify, solve, and sustain safety improvements.
- Provide Lean/CI training and coaching to salaried and hourly employees on tools such as A3 Thinking, Practical Problem Solving, Daily Management Boards, Visual Management, 5S, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, and other tools as needed.
- Identify barriers to Lean/CI success and develop strategies to overcome them.
- Work with CI Champions and operations leaders to measure and document the impact of process improvements on business results.
- Support the strategic growth strategy by deploying the WFS Value System in acquired companies as directed.
- Travel: ~10% travel may be required due to regional scope.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience facilitating continuous improvement using lean tools and driving cultural transformations.
- Ability to interact with and coach individuals at various organizational levels with tact and integrity.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Experience with multiple facilities is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence roles is preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Office and warehouse environment with occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
