Job summary

The State of Michigan is seeking a Unit Manager to administer the MSP Southern Regional Communication Centers in Detroit and Lansing, providing emergency dispatch support and administrative communications for posts, crime labs, and specialist units.

Responsibilities include program development, establishing unit priorities, directing policy and procedure development, budgeting and financial management, personnel matters, and leading special projects with a commitment to bias-free service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any major.
• Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
• This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including drug screen, criminal history background check, and fingerprint check by the MSP.

Responsibilities

• Administer and operate the MSP Southern Regional Communication Centers Unit in Detroit and Lansing, coordinating administrative communication support and emergency dispatch across posts and specialist units.
• Develop and administer program policies, establish unit priorities, and participate in policy and procedure evaluation.
• Oversee personnel matters; budgeting and financial management; and special projects assigned by Section and Division Management.
• Ensure tasks are performed in a bias-free manner.
