Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Lexington, NC. The role offers weekly pay, a sign-on bonus, and a full benefits package as part of a regional route with sleeper tractor and 53' dry van trailers.

Expect 9 months to 5 years sleeper experience as a requirement, with paid training, PTO, uniforms, boot allowance, and a 401(k) plan. Start times vary and schedules run Sunday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements.
• Must have Class A verifiable sleeper experience.
• 9 months to 5 years experience criteria within timeframes as listed.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with federal/state laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating safety hazards and maintaining logs.
• Loading/unloading freight when required by customer.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Sign On Bonus:Pays you $1250 after 30 days and $1250 after 90 days
• $65 per night in the truck with 3 - 5 nights per Week
• Robust backhaul program offering additional miles, $50 for pickup and $50 for delivery
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Sunday to Friday
• Start Time: Varies

• Deliver SOLO To: NC, SC, GA, MS, AL, TN, VA, WV, OH, MI, PA, IL, IA, MO, MN, WI, MD, NJ, NY
• Route: Regional
• Tractor Type: Sleeper
• Trailer Type: 53'Dry Van
• Freight: Touch – Window & Doors;Tailgating window & doors; Slide windows & doors from inside the trailer to the back door/scan
• Must have 1 Year Sleeper Experience

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
