Job summary

The Driving Desk is hiring experienced Class A CDL drivers for a regional intermodal position based in San Antonio, TX. You will transport no-touch intermodal container freight between rail facilities, distribution centers, and customer locations within the regional area.

The role offers a mix of hourly and mileage pay with a predictable regional schedule and only a few overnight layovers each week. Expect to run regional routes with modern equipment and year-round freight.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
• Clean driving record meeting company standards
• Ability to pass DOT drug screen, background check, and physical
• Comfortable operating in rail yards and intermodal environments
• Must be available for regional routes with 2–3 layovers per week

Responsibilities

• Safely transport intermodal containers between rail yards, customer locations, and distribution centers
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Complete electronic logs and required paperwork
• Follow all DOT safety regulations
• Communicate with dispatch regarding load assignments
• Perform standard chassis inspections and secure containers properly
