Job summary

Thedrivingdesk is seeking experienced Class A CDL drivers for a regional intermodal role based in San Antonio, TX. Expect steady year‑round freight, modern equipment, competitive hourly plus mileage pay, and a predictable regional schedule with only a few overnight layovers each week.

Drivers move no‑touch intermodal freight between rail facilities, distribution centers, and customer locations within the regional area.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Clean driving record meeting company qualification standards.
• Ability to pass DOT drug screening, background check, and physical.
• Comfortable operating in rail yards and intermodal environments.
• Must be available for regional routes with approximately 2–3 layovers per week.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport intermodal containers between rail yards, customer locations, and distribution centers.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Complete electronic logs and required paperwork.
• Follow all DOT safety regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding load assignments.
• Perform standard chassis inspections and secure containers properly.
