Job summary

Ralph Moyle, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL driver to reliably deliver freight across the Midwest and Northeast from our Mattawan, MI terminal. This role requires safe operation of 53 ft trailers and adherence to DOT regulations.

Travel will be regional, with on-site duties at the terminal and warehouse support in Paw Paw, MI. A current Class A CDL and medical certificate are required, along with strong communication and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass DOT drug and alcohol tests, including random testing.
• Must meet driver requirements as outlined in company policy.
• Must have a current and valid medical certificate as noted on their motor vehicle report (MVR).
• Ability to safely operate tandem tractor-trailer equipment with 53 ft. trailers in all types of circumstances including intercity, inter-state, and intra-city travel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and timely delivery of freight to customer appointments.
• Safely maneuver tractor-trailers at customer docks for loading and unloading.
• Complete all required paperwork in a professional and timely manner, including but limited to, bills of lading.
• Maintain cleanliness of company-owned equipment.
• Keep tractor and reefers properly fueled at all times.
• Use excellent communication with dispatch and compliance with any delivery or safety concerns while on the road.
• Understand and follow all Department of Transportation rules and regulations as well as company policy.
• Complete proper pre and post trip inspections on all equipment per company requirements.
• Comply with all hours of service requirements using provided Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
• Report mechanical problems to maintenance using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) section of the ELD.
• Route-plan all trips in advance to ensure on-time delivery or pickup.
• Maintain a positive attitude with customers and RMI employees.
