Job summary

Burlington United Methodist Family Services, Inc. d/b/a Star of Hope Family Services in West Virginia seeks a Right from the Start Supervisor to lead statewide coordination for mothers and infants.

You’ll supervise coordinators, ensure care coordination, and advocate for families to access prenatal, pediatric, and nutrition services. You’ll provide direct support during absences, travel across WV, and drive collaborative partnerships with healthcare and community programs to strengthen outcomes

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old and meet WV licensure requirements.
  • Must maintain all required professional licenses and credentials.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer and documentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout West Virginia, including daytime and evening travel.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and supporting Right from the Start Coordinators.
  • Providing and documenting monthly supervision with assigned employees.
  • Coordinating health, educational, psychosocial, and nutritional services for Medicaid-eligible pregnant women and infants when needed.
  • Assessing client needs and identifying barriers to healthy outcomes.
  • Developing individualized service plans with clients.
  • Conducting home visits and client contacts according to program requirements.
  • Coordinating care with medical providers, community agencies, and other case management programs.
  • Connecting families with prenatal, pediatric, postpartum, WIC, nutritional, and family-planning services.
  • Advocating for families experiencing needs related to food, shelter, safety, transportation, child care, and other essential resources.
  • Providing support and intervention during crisis or safety concerns.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary and interagency service-planning meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate client records, documentation, and required reports.
  • Monitoring referrals and following up to help ensure clients receive needed services.
  • Completing required monthly billing documentation.
  • Building strong relationships with healthcare providers and community partners throughout West Virginia.

At Star of Hope Family Services, our Right from the Start (RFTS) Supervisor provides leadership and support to Right from the Start Coordinators across West Virginia while helping ensure Medicaid-eligible pregnant women and infants receive the care, resources, and services they need.

In this role, you'll combine leadership, care coordination, advocacy, and community collaboration to help improve outcomes for mothers, infants, and families. When a RFTS Coordinator is unavailable, you'll step in to provide direct care coordination and help ensure continuity of services.

What You'll Do

Education & Licensure
  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field from an accredited college or university, with applicable West Virginia professional licensure or in the process of obtaining licensure; or
  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses
  • A master's degree is preferred where applicable.

QualificationsEDUCATION

Must be at least 21 years old and possess a Masters Degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field from an accredited College or University AND hold a license in the in their respective field. (OR be in process of obtaining a license from the State of West Virginia.) Masters degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must maintain license requirements according to the State of West Virginia.
  • A registered nurse licensed to practice by the state of West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses.
  • Should have exceptional organizational skills; proficient computer skills; and interpersonal relationship skills, and the ability to communicate orally and in writing with the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment, manage several projects simultaneously, and adjust to frequently changing demands.
  • Have the ability to make decisions consistent with agency policies and general philosophies of child care.
  • Be an acceptable role model for youth in values and lifestyles in keeping with those ascribed by Burlington.
  • Must have a valid state issued drivers license and submit to an intensive background investigation.
