Job summary

Burlington United Methodist Family Services in Keyser, WV seeks a dedicated Parent Educator for the PAT program. You will support families and teach parents to foster healthy child development and strong family bonds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two years of supervised experience with young children or parents is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct home visits with families (prenatal through kindergarten).
  • Provide parenting education and child development information.
  • Develop individualized plans and set goals with families.
  • Use screening tools (ASQ-3, ASQ-SE, Edinburgh, etc.) and make referrals.
  • Document visits and maintain accurate records in required systems.
  • Coordinate and facilitate group connections (10-12 annually).
  • Build relationships with community partners and service providers.
  • Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with families.
  • Manage a caseload based on program requirements.

Parent Educator

Burlington United Methodist Family Services (BUMFS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Parent Educator to support families and young children through our Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications
  • Education level:

  • Must have a valid state issued driver's license and submit to an intensive background investigation.
  • Must be willing to adapt and learn court proceeding processes.
  • Must be self-motivated and task oriented.
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of small groups.
  • Must be willing to travel on occasions.
  • Must attend ALL required PAT Training.
