Job summary

Dept of Veterans Services (DVS) seeks a VVFS Regional Coordinator to lead the regional team and coordinate care for veterans, service members, and families. The RC develops resources, conducts regional triage, and supports training to apply best practices in civilian and veteran services.

Based in the Blacksburg Office, the role collaborates with federal, state, and local partners to connect clients with services and monitor outcomes, ensuring coordinated service plans and effective care

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with the military services, culture and/or military experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of suicide interventions and mandatory reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and oral) clearly and effectively.
• Experience in public speaking and delivery of subject matter trainings.
• Ability to engage SMVF population, develop professional relationships, and advocate for those individuals receiving services.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate and lead teams while managing a high volume of work.
• Demonstrated knowledge of human services, behavioral health, rehabilitative, and other support service systems for veterans and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of federal, state and local officials including public and private providers in serving the SMVF community.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the region team lead and support team members with care coordination consultation, regional case triage, and resource development.
• Provide regional training on resource development and best practices for supporting SMVF.
