Job summary

Ryan Herco Flow Solutions, a SunSource company, is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing professional to oversee branch inventory and supplier relationships in the Burbank area. You will manage orders, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with Sales and Warehouse to minimize lead times and backorders.

Responsibilities include negotiating pricing, maintaining accurate AP/PO records, and applying strategic sourcing to improve cost efficiency while supporting overall branch operations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years purchasing experience or a college degree in Supply Chain Management with internship.
• Industry knowledge in product/plastics a plus.
• Experience using computerized purchasing systems.
• Detail oriented and highly organized.
• Strong negotiating skills and vendor relations ability.
• Excellent communication with vendors, staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Purchases and controls inventory for Branch Office.

Basic Function:

To oversee and purchase products and materials cost effectively for the branches within the region, while maintaining a balance of inventory in relation to sales.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

• Purchases and controls inventory of all products for Branch Office
• Checks stock and replenishes as needed
• Continually monitors (non-moving) items
• Accounts for and reacts quickly to all backorders and transfers while maintaining minimal lead time
• Reviews ROR (Recommended Order Reports) and makes decisions on orders and quantities
• Line Buy Maintenance follow-up weekly
• Continually follows strategic inventory plan, watching for trends
• Scrutinizes transfers and purchase order variances
• Reconciles Accounts Payable and Purchase Order reports, checking for accuracy
• Negotiates pricing and maintains relationships with vendors
• Continually utilizes sourcing techniques to obtain better pricing, material, etc
• Performs purchase order acknowledgement, follow-up and expediting duties, as necessary
• Continually maintains relationship with Sales Department
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years Purchasing experience or college degree in Supply Chain Management with internship
• Product/plastics industry knowledge a plus
• Experience on computerized purchasing system
• Extremely detail oriented and organized
• Strong negotiating expertise
• Excellent communication to include vendors & inside staff (Warehouse, Sales and Management)
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions
• Strong interpersonal skills
• College degree preferred; some college/AA Degree required

• Microsoft Office suit experience computer skills
