The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Regional Business Director (RBD)/Sr. RBD to join our growing US Sales team. The RBD/Sr. RBD will manage a team of Hemolytic Anemia Specialists (HAS), build and develop the team, and create demand for Pyrukynd (mitapivat) among healthcare providers. Additionally, the RBD and their team will raise awareness of Thalassemia across their territories in anticipation of Pyrukynd's initial US approval for this indication.

What you will do:
  • Foster a patient-centric culture emphasizing high performance, accountability, collaboration, compliance, and fun.
  • Shape an environment that balances autonomy, support, and development to meet and exceed goals.
  • Develop regional business plans aligned with sales goals and marketing strategies.
  • Manage regional budgets and ensure adherence to expense policies.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop HAS within the region.
  • Utilize field time to provide guidance and feedback to HAS.
  • Become an expert in the clinical data of the product and guide its use.
  • Develop HAS for additional responsibilities and future roles.
  • Conduct performance reviews, evaluate performance, and implement improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team to inform sales and marketing strategies.
  • Build relationships with KOLs, physicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Model the organization’s values and demonstrate leadership.
  • Recommend policies to enhance business operations and sales analytics.
What you bring:
  • A genuine interest in helping patients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 8+ years of successful sales experience with proven leadership in the (bio)pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience managing high-performing sales teams or leading cross-functional projects.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with skills in performance management, motivation, coaching, and development.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Track record of exceeding patient acquisition and revenue goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Travel Requirements:

Approximately 75% travel within the territory, focusing on the major market area of Central.

Work Location:

This is a remote-based field position. Employees must reside within their designated territory and maintain regular communication with their manager. Travel may be required for meetings and company events.
