Job summary

Innovar Group is seeking a Regional Billing Manager to lead high-volume billing operations for a project-based portfolio across multiple sites in the region. You will supervise a team of billing specialists, ensure invoices are accurate, contract-compliant, and supported by project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of progressive billing or revenue-accounting experience in a project-based environment (construction/industrial services).
• 2+ years of team-leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong experience with contract billing including T&M, unit pricing, milestones, fixed-price work, and retainage.
• Familiarity with AIA billing, pay applications, lien waivers, job costing, and revenue recognition preferred.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Viewpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end billing operations across projects, service lines, and business units.
• Manage and develop a team of billing specialists, setting expectations for accuracy, service, and turnaround time.
• Review and approve invoices, pay applications, lien waivers, retainage documentation, and related billing support.
• Interpret customer contracts and ensure correct billing for T&M, unit pricing, milestones, fixed-price work, and retainage structures.
• Partner with project managers, field teams, operations, accounting, and AR to resolve billing issues and support timely collections.
• Ensure compliance with customer portals, documentation standards, audit requirements, and internal controls.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, revenue-related reporting, reconciliations, and unbilled-revenue analysis.
• Track billing cycle time, error rates, aging, and other metrics; recommend process and system improvements.
