Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks an APS Regional Attorney in San Antonio to handle complex legal matters, advise staff, and represent the agency in court for Adult Protective Services and related matters.

Licensed Texas attorney with strong knowledge of probate, guardianship, and elder law will coordinate with agency attorneys and external counsel, ensuring timely resolutions and compliance with policies and procedures.

Formación

• Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
• Ability to drive and travel as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of probate, guardianship, and elder law policies.

Responsabilidades

• Advises staff on legal matters and interprets laws, regulations, and policies.
• Advises County and District Attorneys on legal matters and interprets policy.
• Provides agency representation in court.
• Provides legal training to agency staff and the legal community.
• Coordinates specialized legal efforts with appropriate experts.
• Performs other duties to maintain unit operations.
• Promotes and demonstrates respect for cultural diversity among coworkers.
• Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
