Job summary

Inspire is seeking a Regional Assistant to lead a team delivering 24-hour direct care to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This on-call role allows a flexible schedule and, with strong management, may resemble a typical 8–5 workday.

You will hire new staff per Inspire Culture and Standards, schedule shifts, monitor medication passes, and ensure safety and compliance across homes in Rexburg/Boise areas.

Description

This is a rewarding work position that revolves around building and leading a team of staff members who give 24-hour direct care to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Regional Assistant duties are on call 24/7, but this position sets it’s own schedule and if managed well (including hiring), hours could be similar to 8-5 Monday-Friday. Duties and responsibilities include:
Hiring: Hire new employees using Inspire Culture and Standards

• Ensure the hire process has been completed entirely and correctly before scheduling Scheduling
• Follow the scheduling model to schedule effectively for all participants
• Reminding staff of scheduled appointments and to be mindful of scheduled activities.
• Ensure adequate notice of posting the schedule for employees
• Assure all shifts are covered for medication passes and the clients are receiving their meds appropriately
• RA is responsible for doing all med passes when staff are not certified or making sure there is a certified employee there to pass meds
• Ensure there is minimal overtime and follow protocol to get approval when overtime is needed Shift Coverage
• Responsible for making sure there is an employee working with the participant at all times Ensure employee’s shifts are covered for med class, CPR/First Aid class, Fingerprint appointments or any other required obligations
• Cover shifts as needed
• Address staff concerns immediately and direct staff to contact the QIDP or HR when applicable
• Direct new staff to participant binders and protocols. Make sure all staff is reading them.
• Ensure that staff follows emergency contact protocol
• Complete in-service training documentation for employees and submit to HR monthly
• Address staff concerns
• Assure TC’s are completing their jobs satisfactorily
• Ensure appropriate training is and has been given to employees
• Schedule and lead the RA/TC meeting 1x/week
• Must answer all phone calls Must respond to client behaviors when needed. Additional Responsibilities: Weekly house checks to ensure homes are clean and employees are meeting expectations Do quality assurance checks on the homes at least weekly and as needed. Turn in to QIDP Director by the 30th
• Help with any tasks the QIDP, Lead RA, or other Administrator assigns to you to help the houses you are over run efficiently.
• Coordinate, oversee and attend doctor appointments and visits under direction of QIDP
• Assist Inspire Health Care with cycle meds and med drawer checks in the homes
• Coordinate Participant schedules to maximize use of support staff
• Make sure client and staff binders are stocked with necessary forms
• Take inventory of house needs such as: Smoke detector batteries, fire extinguisher replacement, and small house repairs, issues with the tablet and Internet, and things of that nature
• Resolve issues and minor behaviors caused by staff or of any other issues that aren’t addressed by the QIDP. Issue training notices and verbal warnings as needed
• Inform the QIDP of any constructive suggestions as well as improvements that can be made to help the households run more smoothly, to make your job run more smoothly, and to keep staff and participants happy and thriving.
