Job summary

ARCA is seeking a Manager to oversee residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southvalley. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with the Interdisciplinary Team to develop and implement Individual Service Plans.

The role requires a 4-year degree, leadership experience, and the ability to ensure compliance with ARCA policies, ICF/MR regulations, and quality assurance standards.

Description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

A.Assessments: Assists in performing initial and on-going assessments of Individuals with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities (IDCD) receiving services to identify learning and training needs.

B.Teamwork: Works in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team to develop the Individual Service Plan (ISP) and to establish program goals and objectives.

C.Health and Wellness: Implements health and wellness activities for individuals receiving services. Models appropriate nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyle choices while working with individuals receiving services.

D.Home Management: May oversee the general management of the home to ensure compliance with ICF/MR licensure and quality assurance standards. Maintains household and the Individual receiving services files/records. Oversees general household maintenance and administers the facility safety program. Responsible for following ARCA Quality Improvement programs at their sites.

E.Financial: Creates and adheres to the annual financial budget for each home assigned to them. Oversees management of household financial accounts and the Individuals served allowance accounts.

F.Staff Supervision: May be responsible for supervising a Residential Manager who supervises the direct teaching staff and oversees the general management of the home to ensure compliance with ICF/MR licensure and quality assurance standards. May supervise up to 20 Residential Instructors.

1.Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates and terminates staff in consultation with InterCare Division Director and HR Director/department and in accordance with ARCA policies and EEO/AA/ADA/DOL regulations.

2.Facilitates weekly staff meetings and ensures staff input into team-based decisions.

3.Completes effective and timely written documentation of personnel meetings, performance evaluations, attendance tracking and disciplinary actions using ARCA’s personnel documentation processes and forms.

4.Timesheets/Mileage: Reviews and submits accurate timesheets and mileage forms.

5.Health and Safety Reports/Documentation: Reports all incidents of job-related work injuries/incidents or driving incidents using ARCA’s Accident Investigation system on SharePoint. Reports knowledge of staff medical situations or domestic violence situations to the Benefits Administrator or HR Director immediately. Reports knowledge of any sexual or other harassment situations to the HR Director immediately.

G.Training: Completes all required training within specified time periods and participate in on-going in-service training according to ARCA Policy on Training.

1.Trains and monitors the direct teaching staff to implement and document the progress of individual programs and to evaluate and design the teaching strategies.

2.Ensures supervised staff meet all training requirements within specified time periods.

H.Abuse/Neglect/Emergency Situations: Treats individuals served with dignity and respect at all times. As required by law, reports all suspected instances of abuse, neglect, exploitation, environmental hazard, suspicious injury and/or injury of unknown origin to the appropriate authorities in accordance with ARCA policies and procedures.

I.Certified AWMD: This position requires the manager to become AWMD certified with one month of taking the position. This position is required to pass meds when no other staff is available to do so.

J.HIPAA Compliance & Confidentiality: Has full access to Protected Health Information (PHI) to carry out job responsibilities in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ARCA policies and procedures on confidentiality.

Typical Physical, Environmental & Mental Demands

Training Class Requirements: Requires ability to take online courses via computer, iPad or tablet. Requires ability to get down on knees and apply adequate pressure to perform CPR. Requires ability to stand, move around and use both arms and hands to practice maneuvers for Mandt class. Requires ability to lift twenty (20) pounds and use a fire extinguisher for Safety class. Requires ability to read and understand English for AWMD medication labels/MARS and for most other classes.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of ICF/MR regulations is preferred.

Must be able to design, implement, and monitor active treatment programming for Individuals served.

Must be able to supervise, manage, and train residential staff.

Must be able to demonstrate skills in the areas of oral and written communication, organization, and leadership.

Must be able to manage financial accounts.

Interpersonal Skills

Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and maintain positive working relationships with individuals receiving services, families, co-workers, Interdisciplinary Team members, representatives from other community organizations and other entities as necessary. Must be able to work with a diverse group of people of varying cultural and educational backgrounds.

Computer/Technology

Computer skills, ability to operate general office equipment and experience using Internet/Intranet, Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and other software and database applications.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Will abide by all agency policies and procedures, including COVID protocols.

Negative tuberculosis test or physician's clearance to work.

Driving

Must have current, valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.

Education/Experience/Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a Human Service related field or a Registered Nurse required.

Must meet Federal standards to qualify as a QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional).

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with individuals with IDCD.
