Job summary

CRH Americas Building Products seeks an Area EHS Manager to lead occupational health, safety, environmental and sustainability programs for four locations in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The role is based out of Elgin, IL or Romeoville, IL, with 60-75% travel and close collaboration with management and EHSS teams to embed proactive safety culture.

The position reports to the Regional EHSS Director and requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to drive continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS, science or engineering related fields required.
• 5+ years in EHS/manufacturing roles with responsibility.
• OSHA CFR 1910 knowledge and regulatory experience.
• Nationally recognized safety certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH).
• Strong communication and project leadership across functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide a consistent EHS presence at four sites with improvement plans.
• Partner with Area GM to drive site ownership of EHS results.
• Lead EHS professionals and site managers to align with IPG standards.
• Lead audits, corrective actions and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee incident investigations and preventive actions.
• Support regional safety culture shift toward behavior-based values.
• Manage workers comp, liability claims, and coordination with insurer.
