Job summary

Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (AWG) seeks a Regional Accountant II to support the South/East region within the Support Center Accounting department. Hybrid work arrangement and collaboration with management will drive timely financial reporting, period-end entries, and reconciliations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, strong Excel/MS Office skills, and experience with ERP systems (SCM, PeopleSoft, Monarch preferred). Travel up to 50% may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of SCM, PeopleSoft and Monarch preferred.
• Ability to develop productive working relationships across all levels.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Relocation may be necessary for future advancement opportunities.
• Travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Timely preparation, analysis, and review of weekly financials.
• Review period-end results and financial variance analysis.
• Complete account reconciliations in line with policy.
• Translate financial impact across systems and processes.
• Monitor evolving accounting guidance and ensure consistency.
• Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and variances for projects.
• Collaborate with business areas to identify efficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
