Job summary

Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (AWG) is seeking a Regional Accountant II to support the South/East Region's division accounting activities.

The role involves analyzing financial statements, providing weekly and period reporting, and preparing period-end journal entries and reconciliations. The position is Hybrid with opportunities to collaborate across management levels and contribute to project initiatives from planning to execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of SCM, PeopleSoft and Monarch preferred.

Responsibilities

• Timely preparation, analysis, and review of weekly financials.
• Assist division support center staff with the review of period end financial results and variance analysis.
• Accurate and timely completion of account reconciliations in compliance with company policy.
• Knowledge of various systems and software to translate financial impact.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving accounting guidance, collaborating across the organization.
