Precision Optical, part of Belden's Broadband Solutions, is a leading provider of high-performance optical networking equipment. We deliver optical transceivers, transport solutions, and access technologies that power broadband, service provider, data center, and enterprise networks. We are seeking a results-driven Sales Executive to grow our market share. You will leverage your expertise in telecom and optical networking to drive demand for our solutions and play a key role in expanding our customer base. This role includes approximately 40% travel to customer sites, trade shows, and key industry events.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Drive new business development efforts by identifying, targeting, and acquiring new customers across Tier 2/3 service providers, cable operators, and enterprise verticals
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Precision's portfolio of optical transceivers, PON, CWDM/DWDM, and optical transport solutions
  • Qualify leads, understand customer pain points, and present tailored solutions to address network requirements
  • Engage customer engineering and procurement teams during the sales cycle from qualification to close
  • Develop account plans and execute territory strategies to exceed sales quotas and growth goals
  • Manage data in Salesforce, providing accurate and timely opportunity, pipeline, and forecast reporting
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Participate in lab trials, interoperability testing, and homologation efforts when necessary
  • Represent at industry conferences and regional events to generate leads and build relationships

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years B2B sales experience in telecom, networking, or optical components industry
  • Proven success in a hunter sales role with a track record of overachievement
  • Strong understanding of optical transceivers (SFP/QSFP), access technologies (GPON/XGS-PON), and packet optical networking
  • Comfortable engaging with technical buyers and executive decision-makers alike
  • Familiarity with service provider, cable/MSO, or data center environments
  • Proficient in Salesforce and pipeline management
  • Willing to travel up to 40%
  • Experience selling to telecom or service providers or working with companies such as Cisco, Adtran, Ciena, Nokia, Juniper, or similar (preferred)
  • Understanding of procurement processes, homologation testing, and network deployment cycles (preferred)
  • Exposure to BABA (Build America Buy America) and Federal Broadband funding programs (preferred)
  • Technical acumen to support solution positioning and basic troubleshooting discussions (preferred)
