Job Description Summary:

The Regional Account Manager is directly responsible for representing PTC's products to medical professionals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases and/or Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) within their assigned region.

The incumbent handles all operational aspects of pharmaceutical sales and services, including generating sales, communicating and promoting the product's clinical and economic benefits, building and maintaining relationships, educating healthcare staff, and identifying new opportunities for growth. They work cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on sales-related issues.

The Regional Account Manager supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company SOPs. Candidate must be based in DC, Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina area.

Responsibilities:
  1. Achieve sales targets in a compliant manner and contribute to the success of the metabolism business unit.
  2. Implement marketing strategies to meet sales and patient objectives for neurology and/or FA products.
  3. Collaborate within a matrix environment with various departments.
  4. Develop business partnerships with targeted physicians and healthcare staff.
  5. Identify key treatment centers and collaborate to optimize patient care.
  6. Establish relationships with patient and disease advocacy groups.
  7. Employ a consultative sales approach tailored to healthcare professionals.
  8. Address product access and reimbursement issues.
  9. Cultivate relationships with key thought leaders in neurology and/or FA.
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; degrees in life sciences, business, or healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sales experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in rare disease or highly specialized sales, including high-cost products and coordination with patient services.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing territories.
  • Experience in specialized clinics, hospitals, and academic centers.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including nights and weekends.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and meet credentialing requirements for medical facilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience supporting orphan, rare disease, or specialized drugs.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial and startup environments.
Travel Requirements:

Travel up to 75%, including overnight and weekend travel as needed.

Salary Range:

Expected base salary between $178,000 and $202,000, contingent on experience and internal equity. Employees are also eligible for incentives and benefits.
