The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources seeks a twelve-month, non-tenure track Extension Instructor or Open Rank Extension Educator to lead 4-H Youth Development work in Merrick County, based in Central City, NE.

You will collaborate with Extension staff, engage youth through programs, and contribute to reporting and program development. Tuition remission for full-time staff is included in benefits.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in youth development, education, or a closely related field (extension educator) or bachelor’s degree (extension instructor) with progress toward master’s within five years.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching in formal or non-formal settings.
  • Ability to communicate through publications, presentations, web, and social media.
  • Experience working with youth and youth organizations and understanding positive youth development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership for Nebraska Extension’s 4-H and Youth Development Program in Merrick and Hamilton Counties.
  • Develop and deliver proactive, innovative, and engaging educational programs with broad reach and impact.
  • Establish and sustain a strong local and regional clientele base and programming portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Extension specialists and researchers to translate research into practice and report impact.
