Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and graduate of a Respiratory Care Therapy program required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (within 6 months), PALS (within 6 months), NRP (within 6 months), RRT exam (within 18 months), Virginia license.

Position Summary

Sovah Martinsville seeks a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to examine patients with breathing issues, conduct diagnostic tests, consult with physicians, perform therapies, and educate patients.

• Measure lung capacity, analyze blood samples
• Deliver therapies, monitor patient response
• Evaluate policies based on outcomes and research
• Respond to emergencies, assess patient conditions
• Educate patients and families, provide resources
• Manage supplies and equipment maintenance

Minimum Education

• Associate’s degree required
• Graduate of a Respiratory Care Therapy program required

Required Skills

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, minimal supervision
• Ability to work under stress and take appropriate actions
• Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays

Certifications/Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6 months
• Registered Respiratory Therapist exam within 18 months
• Virginia license as Respiratory Care Practitioner
