Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physicians' orders, determine therapy effectiveness, and provide ventilator support during CPR while maintaining life support equipment in ICUs and other areas.

Education requirements include graduating from an accredited respiratory care program and holding a current license where practicing, with RRT certification and possible onboarding of BLS/NRP/PALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
• Must have a current license in the state of practice.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• BLS, NRP and PALS (may obtain upon hire).
• Preferred: Prior Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care experience.

Licensure: Must have a current license in the state of practice.

Experience

Certifications: Registered as a therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT). BLS, NRP and PALS (may obtain upon hire).

Other: Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills, ability to be flexible and adaptable. Must possess the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, clinical interventions and procedures as needed for the care of the patient.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

Preferred Licensure

Preferred Experience: Prior Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive care experience preferred.

Preferred Certifications: NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist from the NBRC).
