Job summary

Mercy seeks a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care in respiratory therapy across units, following physicians’ orders and protocol. You will determine therapy effectiveness and support ventilator needs during CPR while maintaining life-support equipment.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
• Licensure: Must have a current license in the state of practice.
• Certifications: Registered as a therapist by the NBRC (RRT). BLS, NRP and PALS may be obtained upon hire.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, flexibility, and judgment to implement medical care.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

• Provide ventilator support during CPR and maintain life support equipment in ICUs and other areas.

• Education: Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
• Licensure: Must have a current license in the state of practice.
• Experience:
• Certifications: Registered as a therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT). BLS, NRP and PALS (may obtain upon hire).
• Other: Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills, ability to be flexible and adaptable. Must possess the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, clinical interventions and procedures as needed for the care of the patient.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
• Preferred Licensure:
• Preferred Experience: Prior Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive care experience preferred.
• Preferred Certifications: NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist from the NBRC).
