Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist for Winter Haven Hospital, PRN nights. Responsible for delivering respiratory care under physician orders, performing procedures, and supporting diagnostic testing in a high-volume setting.

Required are an active RRT license, NBRC credential, CPR, and readiness for NRP/ACLS within 6 months; pediatric and NICU experience are preferred. Competitive benefits and relocation/sign-on options may apply.

Qualifications

• RRT license required and NBRC credential active for RRT.
• CPR certification; NRP within 6 months; ACLS within 6 months.
• PALS or ACCS/NPS preferred.
• Technical Respiratory Therapy education completed; associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers Respiratory Care Services under physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Performs noninvasive and invasive procedures with minimal oversight.
• Performs diagnostic testing and provides emergency/adult critical care.

Position Details:

• Facility: BayCare Health System - Respiratory Care Services
• Location: Winter Haven Hospital
• Status: PRN (POOL), Exempt: No
• Shift Hours: 6:30PM - 7:00AM
• Shift: Nights
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No
• 4 shifts a month requirement

The Respiratory Therapist is a clinical professional who utilizes the department's scope of services to access, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care as an integral member of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities Include:

• Delivers Respiratory Care Services under the order of the physician and in accordance with protocols established by the hospital, other health care providers, or the board and functions in situations of unsupervised patient contact requiring individual judgment.
• Performs noninvasive and invasive procedures with minimal oversight.
• Perform diagnostic testing; and Emergency care/Adult critical care

Certifications and Licensures Required:

• RRT (Respiratory Therapy License)
• Active NBRC Credential for RRT
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• NRP (Neonatal) - within 6 months
• ACLS (Cardiovascular) - within 6 months
• PALS (Pediatric) - Preferred
• ACCS or NPS - Preferred

Education Required:

• Technical Respiratory Therapy
• Associate's Respiratory Therapy - Preferred

Experience Required:

• 6 Months Respiratory

Specific Skills Required:

• NICU and Pediatric experience is preferred.
