Job summary

Atlantic Shores Retirement Community in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Refurbishment Technician for full-time day shift (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, painting, carpentry, and basic electrical/plumbing repairs to support the facility’s operations and residents.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of building maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license. Healthcare maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year building maintenance experience.
• 1+ year apartment/healthcare community maintenance experience preferred.
• Renovation experience in painting, carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring expected.
• Strong understanding of building systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
• Carry out painting and refurbishment projects as directed.
• Handle minor plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and tool storage.
• Assist with HVAC, water systems, pumps, motors, and generators when qualified.
• Prioritize tasks per supervisor instructions.
