Job summary

Atlantic View Post Acute is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Newport News, VA. This full-time role focuses on keeping building systems in excellent condition, performing repairs, and supporting a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of general maintenance experience, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical skills, and basic computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of general maintenance experience required, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades.
• HVAC, plumbing, and electrical experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of building equipment, building systems, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and other facility systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend system longevity.
• Maintain knowledge of building systems, equipment, and applicable building codes and regulations.
• Utilize basic computer systems to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and communicate updates.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly while prioritizing resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety procedures, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
