Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a Refurb Technician to support maintenance and grounds tasks across the Otterbein Community. This full-time role, primarily Monday-Friday with rotating emergency on-call, involves painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, moving furniture and general repairs to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

Education required is a High School Diploma with experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and related maintenance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: General Maintenance – Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry; HVAC, Mowers and Vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for residents, their families, visitors and partners.
• Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Assists with moving of residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Paints residents' living quarters as needed.
• Assists with the ongoing preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
• Assists with grounds keeping, weeding, mulching, and snow-removal.
• Assists with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan, fire drills, disaster plan, smoking policy, fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports, generator testing logs, water temperatures, flame spread ratings of interior finishes, and other maintenance records.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
