Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our team. This full-time role (32 hours per week) focuses on general maintenance tasks across resident spaces, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will perform repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, assist with moving furnishings, and support the preventative maintenance program, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable
• Experience: Maintenance experience in a maintenance department and prior experience in a health care facility preferred. Some working knowledge of electrical and HVAC work is important.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Assists with moving of residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Paints residents' living quarters as needed.
• Assists with the on-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
• Assists with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan, fire drills, disaster plan, smoking policy, fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports, generator testing logs, water temperatures, flame spread ratings of interior finishes, and other maintenance records.
• Assists with transportation tasks as needed
• Maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the residents, their families, visitors and partners.
