Job summary

Universal Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Refunds Analyst for the Atlantic Region Central Billing Office. The role focuses on researching and resolving credit balances for both third-party and patient accounts, with emphasis on timely and accurate processing.

You will handle inquiries, document activities in the patient accounting system, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Opportunities for growth exist within UHS’s network of hospitals and services.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review daily worklist and research assigned credit balances, including pen, bad debt, and correctly posted contractual allowances.
• Complete forms and assemble information to clear credit balances from A/R.
• Review correspondences to resolve insurance requests and document actions in the Patient Accounting system.
• Complete expedited refunds requests in a timely manner and post adjustments as needed.

The Atlantic Region Central Billing Office ("ARCBO") or ("CBO") provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals.

The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Refunds Analyst - Overpayments.

The Refund Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely research and resolution of credit balances including third party and patient telephone inquiries.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Review daily worklist and researches assigned credit balances including checking for pen accounts, bad debt accounts, correctly posted contractual allowances and verifies source of payer.
• Completes necessary forms and assembles information correctly to clear credit balance from A/R.
• Review correspondences to resolve insurance request
• Documents all actions in note screen of Patient Accounting system.
• Complete expedited request for patient refunds in a timely manner
• Posts allowed adjustments as needed to assigned accounts.
• Directs any problems with accounts or where additional intervention is needed management for resolution.
• Understands regulatory requirements concerning credit balances for patient and third party payers.
• Other duties as assigned.
