Job summary

Catholic Charities of Onondondaga County is seeking a MAC Youth Coordinator to plan and manage daily operations under the NYS OTDA grant. You will recruit participants, design activities for refugee youth aged 15-24, and coordinate mentors and teachers to support academics, health, career development, financial literacy and social integration.

You'll develop English learning resources, supervise youth programs after school and weekends, and liaise with families and schools to promote success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience working with youth, teens, refugees, and diverse backgrounds.
• Experience working with New Americans or newly arrived refugees.
• Demonstrated cultural confidence.
• General knowledge of refugee communities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the daily operations and activities of the MAC grant.
• Recruit program participants for career awareness, tutoring, health and financial literacy workshops.
• Develop programs for refugee youth aged 15-24 focused on academics, health, career development.
• Recruit mentors and coordinate activities to build skills.
• Create lesson plans and activities for English learning and social adjustment.
• Oversee Recreational Activities, Summer Academy and other youth programming.
• Assist with intake forms and school communication.
• Plan field trips and after-school/weekend activities.
• Communicate with parents about program activities.
• Monitor expenses and ensure grant requirements are met.
