Job summary

Catholic Charities of Onondaga County is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to help broaden shelter services and monitor program activity. You will support the Shelter Manager, maintain records, and assist in daily operations to ensure compliance with funding contracts and agency policies.

The role requires a Bachelor degree with up to three years of relevant experience, and the ability to drive to client homes and facilities.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor degree with up to three (3) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Knowledge of local human service delivery systems and public benefit programs; experience with low-income or homeless individuals preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid NYS Driver’s license; registered & insured vehicle; State Central Registry Clearance.
• Skills/Abilities: Ability to utilize electronic database system; proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Office; customer service skills; oral and written communication skills.
• Working Conditions: Mobility to drive to meetings at client homes and community facilities, may not meet Federal accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with broadening and monitoring shelter services, focusing on hospitality client needs.
• Support the Shelter Manager in staff meetings, record keeping, and funding contract compliance.
• Help supervise and operate the shelter under the Shelter Manager’s direction.
• Provide administrative and technical support to shelter staff for new program initiatives.
• Serve as a professional role model for staff and residents; act as team leader when needed.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to organize and update shelter information and protocols.
