Job summary

International Rescue Committee is seeking a Caseworker to provide trauma-informed services to refugees and qualified immigrants, supporting positive resettlement and client self-sufficiency. The role involves developing service plans, coordinating resources, and advocating for clients within a multi-agency framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in human services strongly preferred.
• Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure living essentials such as housing, food, medical care, and transportation.
• Conduct intake services with clients to assess needs.
• Develop self-sufficiency plans and timelines in partnership with each client.
• Provide individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
• Assess and monitor client progress to support attainment of goals and optimize resource use.
• Detail each client interaction in accordance with program requirements.
• Input client information in database(s) and assist with tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations.
• Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for clients’ benefit.
• Use personal insured vehicle or public transportation to travel as needed within service area.
• May train and lead volunteers and interns.
• Other duties as assigned.
