Job summary

Jewish Family Service of San Diego seeks a Job Developer to expand refugee employment opportunities by building employer partnerships, guiding resume development and interview preparation, and supporting clients toward successful job placement.

Reporting to the Employment Program Manager, you will work with the Refugee Resettlement team to promote workforce integration, onsite collaboration, and self-sufficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CA driver’s license, insurance, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel off-site.
• Experience with helping low-income or newcomer populations with employment needs strongly desired.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and culturally sensitively.
• Proficiency in updating and maintaining multiple databases and physical files.

Responsibilities

• Conduct employer outreach via email, phone, and in-person meetings; cold calling is expected.
• Explain benefits of hiring refugees and available employment support services.
• Provide program information to businesses and chambers of commerce; update information as needed.
• Provide culturally competent case management to assist client employment placement.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; lead workshops for refugee clients.
