Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese in Houston seeks an Employment Specialist to help refugees and others gain stable work. You will develop Employment Services, coach clients, and organize workforce events with local employers and partners.

Responsibilities include resume and interview coaching, outreach, and coordinating services to support economic self-sufficiency and successful job placement.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in social work, public administration, data analytics, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in employment development.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement employment initiatives with community partnerships to stabilize individuals and families.
• Develop effective working relationships with employers and maintain regular contact to monitor program satisfaction.
• Assess staffing needs of businesses and create employment, vocational, and education opportunities for participants.
• Coach clients in following action plans, assist with resumes and interview prep, and refer to job fairs and sponsors.
• Organize workforce development events as needed for various projects.
