KCC Companies in Louisville, KY is expanding its Learning and Development team to add a Refrigeration Training Supervisor. The role focuses on developing MOJT onboarding for Refrigeration and Assembly Techs, certifying brazing skills, and driving adult-learning based training strategies.

You will work with Team Leads, Supervisors, and L&D SMEs to improve onboarding and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in refrigeration, strong brazing experience, and a passion for sharing

Qualifications

• Attendance tracked with limited points (internal candidate preferred).
• Six months in current department if internal applicant.
• Occasional 3rd shift hours as needed.
• Expert-level brazing in manufacturing and strong refrigeration knowledge.
• Experience in training or related field; knowledge of adult learning is a plus.
• Ability to assess learner understanding and adapt teaching methods.
• Strong teamwork and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office or ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MOJT onboarding documentation for Refrigeration and Assembly Techs.
• Coordinate MOJT evaluations at 3, 6, and 12 weeks with Team Leads.
• Analyze MOJT checklists and training opportunities; propose solutions.
• Create standardized training regimens based on gaps and feedback.
• Plan, launch, and evaluate a Brazing Excellence program to certify brazing skills.
• Collaborate with L&D SMEs to develop training aids and resources.
• Facilitate onboarding for new hourly production personnel, focusing on safety and tools.
• Coordinate materials for new hire onboarding and track progress.

Summary:

KCC’s Learning and Development (L&D) team is growing to include a Refrigeration Training Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be experienced in KCC’s refrigeration operations (brazing, following piping diagrams, installing refrigeration components, and conducting refrigeration quality inspections), passionate about sharing their knowledge to help others achieve peak performance, and committed to leadership principles. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be committed to working with their various stakeholders and furthering their understanding of adult learning in a manufacturing environment. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

EssentialFunctionsorResponsibilities:

• Assist with the development and implementation of Managed On-the-Job Training (MOJT) checklists (training documentation) that will be used to onboard newly hired and promotedRefrigeration Techs and Assembly Techs assigned to work in refrigeration areasat KCC manufacturing sites.
• Partner with Team Leads and Supervisors as they conduct the MOJTchecklist evaluations (3,6, and 12 weeks) fornewly hiredand promotedemployees involved inRefrigeration functions.
• Analyze applicable MOJT checklists and other training opportunitydocumentationandoffer solutions.
• Develop andfacilitate standardized training regimens based on skill gap analysis, quality standards,and stakeholder feedback.
• Plan, develop, launch, and evaluate a replicable and scalable “Brazing Excellence” training program that leads to certification of this critical skill in manufacturing settings.
• Collaborate with L&Dteam subject matter experts to developtraining aids and resources.
• Facilitateandimproveonboarding (safety, tools, work hardening, etc.) for all newly hiredand promotedhourly production personnel.
• Coordinate the acquisition of materials necessary to conductnewhireonboarding.
• Contribute to other training projects as requested.
• Represent the L&Dteam at meetings as requested.
• Report directly to the Production Training Manager.

AdditionalResponsibilities (if needed):

• Consult withProductionLeadershipto identify and resolve training needs.
• Maintain training records using the company’slearningmanagementsystem (Cornerstone/KCC Learns).
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action workshops to address performance gaps.
• Collaboratewith Quality and Technical Supportto ensure findings from field investigations are incorporated into L&D training and MOJT checklists.

Qualifications/Skills:

Requirements:

• Proven record of good attendance (less than 8 attendance pointsif internal applicant).
• 6 months in his or her current department(if internal applicant).
• Must be able to occasionally work 3 rd shift hours (as needed).
• Expert-level understanding of brazing in a manufacturing environment and strong knowledge of refrigeration processesas demonstrated by at least 3 years of experience.
• Experience in training or a related field (familiarity with adult learning theory is a plus).
• Ability to discern individual team members’ level of comprehension and adapt teaching methods to best suit their needs.
• Strong teamwork and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Must demonstrate the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)ORthe ability to learn these applications.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred but not required for this position.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to basic Human Resource principles.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a challenging and rewarding role.

Safety/PhysicalRequirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Requires bending, stooping, and standing.
• Must be able to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to traveltoKCC manufacturing sites and work occasional hours outside of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Good visual and spatial perception.
• Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, firstaid response, etc.
