Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician I/II for Lebanon, IN. You will lead maintenance on refrigeration systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support the Chief Engineer on projects.

The role requires strong electrical, welding, and troubleshooting skills, plus HazMat training and RETA-aligned knowledge. You will work in a fast-paced cold storage environment, lifting up to 50 lbs, and occasionally 70 lbs, in temperatures from +50°F to -30°F.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Continuing education in RETA and/or other industry courses strongly preferred.
  • Highly skilled in building and equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient electrical knowledge.
  • Maintenance troubleshooting.
  • Proficient welding knowledge.
  • HAZMAT trained.
  • Highly skilled in all aspects of refrigeration.
  • Understanding of electrical ladder diagrams.
  • Capable of leading a team and working independently with limited direction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, schedule, operate, maintain, and repair the refrigeration system.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with projects when asked.
  • Conducts daily inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation of the refrigeration system.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Interpret electrical ladder diagrams.
  • Capable of leading a team and coordinating with others.

The Job Details

We are looking for dependable hardworking individuals with good work habits, abilities to minimize downtime of all equipment, and operate the facility at its maximum efficiency. In addition, we need someone who works well with others and is self-motivated. Duties and Responsibilities can include the following:

  • Can complete all Maintenance Technician I and II jobs and tasks
  • Including, but not limited to: required paperwork, battery maintenance, general housekeeping and maintenance, troubleshooting, electrical work, welding, equipment maintenance, and other preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Hazmat responsibilities
  • REFRIGERATION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • RETA1, RETA2
  • ENGINE ROOM FUNTIONS AND PREVENTITIVE MAINTENANCE
  • Electrical systems maintenance
  • Lead, plan, schedule, operate, maintain, and repair the refrigeration system
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with projects when asked
  • Conducts daily inspections to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facilities refrigeration system
  • Assists in execution of PSM Program
  • Emergency response training
  • Conducts troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have or be able to complete the below qualifications

  • Education
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Continuing education in RETA and or other industry specific courses strongly preferred.
