Job summary

KCC Companies is seeking a Product Engineer to collaborate with designers, engineers, and departments for the design, support, and manufacture of Commercial HVAC products. You will drive product development from concept to customer focus on internal systems, performance components, and manufacturing efficiency.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, 5S standards, safety, and data-driven manufacturing support in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and support to other areas outside of your jurisdiction as required.
• Promote and enforce safety throughout the plant with a culture of safety.
• Provide daily direction to the production team leaders and team members to ensure quality manufacturing.
• Lead daily production meetings to share safety, quality, and production news.
• Assist in developing corrective actions for production issues.
• Maintain training records and ensure team members are trained to standard work.
• Approve time-off requests and help manage team member payroll.
• Maintain a positive attitude and foster constructive employee relations.

Essential Functions:

• Continuously seeking opportunities for improvement within current processes.
• Maintaining and improving current 5S standards.
• Provide coverage and support to other areas outside of your jurisdiction as required.
• Promote and enforce safety throughout the plant by building a culture of safety (See Safety Responsibilities below).
• Provides daily direction to the production team leaders and team members to ensure the manufacturing of quality products.
• Conducts daily meetings with the production team to pass along relevant information about safety, quality, production, & other plant related communications.
• Ability to understand problems that arise from the production area; and must work with team to develop & implement corrective action.
• Facilitates training & development of team members / Ensure all Team Members are being trained to standard work.
• Maintains training matrix of team members.
• Prepares relevant KPIs daily and posts to SQDC board.
• Maintains team member attendance records.
• Approves employee time off requests and manages team member payroll.
• Follows guidelines in employee handbook for progressive discipline.
• Responsible for appraisal & discipline of all team members within the team, as needed.
• Keeps a positive attitude and encourages positive employee relations.

Safety Responsibilities:

• Gain knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation as well as plant safety rules to perform duties safely and in compliance with all KCC rules and regulations.
• Participate and/or lead toolbox talks & monthly training.
• Take every reasonable precaution for the protection of your coworkers.
• Take immediate action to address unsafe acts or conditions and report issues to management.
• Assist in accident investigations (as needed) to identify the root cause in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position will help lead the Production team and be responsible for production matters.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member will be in a manufacturing environment where loud noises and hot or cold temperatures are possible.
