Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State Correctional Institution at Laurel Highlands, seeks a Corrections Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Instructor to teach and lead the refrigeration trade. You will shape vocational training to help inmates prepare for future opportunities and guide work crews and classroom activities.

The position supports safety of facilities, supplies planning, and hands-on instruction, with a 40-hour week 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in repair and servicing of refrigeration or air conditioning systems.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in refrigeration or AC trade or equivalent.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training including one year of journey level work in the trade.

Responsibilities

• Trade Instruction: Teach refrigeration/air conditioning practices and procedures.
• Classroom Guidance: Deliver curriculum, maintain order, document inmate progress.
